This role involves providing round-the-clock paediatric nursing care to children with various health needs in a fast-paced environment. Successful applicants will join an established paediatric nursing team in the Emergency Department to provide a 24‑hour paediatric nursing service. This fully rotational post involves a shift pattern of days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
Provide safe and effective paediatric nursing care to patients presenting with a variety of health care needs in a busy emergency department.
This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Depending on the level of check—Basic, Standard or Enhanced—the cost is £25.50, £25.50 or £53.50, respectively. You will be required to repay the cost on appointment; the amount may be deducted from your salary over 1–3 months or paid as a one‑off at commencement. You can also choose to register for the DBS Update Service, an annual fee of £16 that eliminates the need for repeated disclosures. If you withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the DBS cost. DBS checks remain free for volunteer positions.
In line with national NHS guidelines, this Trust operates a strict non‑smoking policy. Members of staff are not permitted to smoke on Trust premises or grounds at any time, nor take smoking breaks during working hours.
