Qualifications

  • Knowledge of anaphylaxis management.
  • Experience in performing skin prick testing and/or food challenges.

  • Knowledge and/or experience of immunotherapy.

Paediatric Allergy Clinical Nurse Specialist

The closing date is 24 December 2025.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Paediatric Allergy Nurse Specialist to join our specialist paediatric allergy service for a period of maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well‑established, dynamic multidisciplinary team providing high quality, evidence‑based care to children and young people with allergic conditions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work autonomously and collaboratively to deliver a comprehensive allergy service, including nurse‑led clinics, eczema management, immunotherapy, and drug provocation challenges.

Primary responsibilities
  • Undertake independent nurse‑led allergy clinics, including assessment, diagnostic support, management planning, and patient education.
  • Lead the paediatric eczema clinic and provide specialist advice, treatment planning, and support for families with complex eczema with the support of the referring allergy consultant.
  • Coordinate and deliver subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy service for tree pollen, grass pollen, and house dust mite, ensuring treatment is administered safely and in line with local and national guidance.
  • Lead on drug provocation challenges, including specialised procedures such as administration of yellow fever vaccine.
  • Participate in service development, clinical governance, audit and guideline development.

Salary: £56,276 to £63,176 a year, per annum, inclusive of HCAS pro rata.
