MULTIPLE ROLES AVAILABLE - STARTS 2ND OF FEBRUARY 2026

The Company

Sharpak Aylesham is a manufacturer of thermo‑formed plastic packaging for use in the Fresh Produce and Food Service divisions. Established in 1968, the site has significantly grown in recent years and aims to be the first choice for rigid plastic packaging solutions through our reliability, efficiency, and innovation as a manufacturer of sustainable packaging on a local and global platform.

Role Purpose

As part of the Packing Desk team, the aim of the role is to support a smooth, efficient and high quality service as the ‘link’ between the Production and Despatch departments. The role holder is required to undertake a range of general warehousing duties and follow company procedures, working to a high standard of health and safety, to ensure the product is sent to customers in a professional and safe way.

Fixed Term Contract February 2026 to End of April 2026

Shifts Available

6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm or 10pm-6am (£12.21 per hour + enhanced shift allowance for nights)

Key Responsibilities
  • Stack pallets with boxes from the packing belt, ensuring that the products are consistent on each pallet and stacked safely.
  • Check box quality on full pallets and wrap correctly to ensure safe transportation through the warehouse and to the customer.
  • Check and adhere to the correct pallet labels on the appropriate pallet and double‑check the work of others.
  • Operate Powered Pallet Truck (PPT), hand pallet truck, hand scanners, and other equipment as necessary.
  • Be aware of metal detection system malfunctions, including completion of near‑miss forms if metal detection or box damage is observed.
  • Provide an adequate supply of new pallets in the Packing Desk area to ensure a smooth and continuous service.
  • Follow company policy and procedures at all times to support effective running of the Packing Desk.
  • Provide a safe working environment by keeping the Packing Desk area clean and tidy.
  • Undertake other duties that are deemed reasonable and commensurate with the role according to business needs.
Experience / Skills
  • Experience of working in a similar role within a high‑volume manufacturing, FMCG or fresh produce environment would be advantageous.
  • Team worker with a flexible approach to the role and others.
  • A hands‑on approach to the role with a keen eye for detail.
  • Positive working attitude when working alone or within a team.
