About the Role
Sodexo is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Overhead Cleaning Operative to deliver high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within a manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring overhead structures, equipment, and high-level areas are maintained in line with strict safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness within assigned overhead and high-level areas by following all relevant work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Clean overhead structures, pipework, beams, ducting, and equipment using approved methods and access equipment
- Conduct regular checks of cleaning equipment, machinery, and access equipment during the working day, reporting any faults or defects to the supervisor
- Ensure strict adherence to internal operating procedures, GMP standards, and statutory regulations
- Actively participate in the Company Health and Safety Policy, reporting hazards, risks, or GMP concerns to the supervisor
- Operate proactively to support the Sodexo Facilities Management team, anticipating requirements and delivering a positive, can‑do approach
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Mars associates, colleagues, supervisors, suppliers, and customers
- Liaise daily with other members of the cleaning team and site personnel to ensure safe and effective service delivery
- Attend all required training sessions and continuously develop relevant knowledge and skills
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in overhead, high-level, or industrial cleaning is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Comfortable working at height and following strict safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach to work
- Good communication skills and strong awareness of health and safety compliance
