Make a Lasting Impact - One Learner at a Time

Role Description

Are you a compassionate educator with a desire to make a difference outside the traditional classroom?

We’re looking for dedicated Outreach Tutors and Teachers to provide personalised one-to-one and small group support to students across Essex. This rewarding role supports learners who are currently unable to attend mainstream education due to anxiety, social-emotional needs (SEMH), SEND, behavioural challenges, or those at risk of exclusion through our partner Alternative Education Service in Essex. (You will not be working for our agency)

Whether you’re working in a pupil’s home, a local library, or an education setting, you’ll be instrumental in helping learners rebuild confidence, re-engage with education, and work towards meaningful academic outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored one-to-one sessions in core subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, and more to secondary aged students from EYFS to Year 11 (including GCSE/Functional Skills).
  • Build positive relationships with students and their families to foster trust and engagement.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs and styles.
  • Support students' academic progress alongside emotional resilience and personal growth.
  • Maintain accurate session records and progress reports.
  • Use varied tools and resources to keep sessions engaging and impactful.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Qualified or experienced educators with strong Maths and English skills.
  • A background in working with young people—especially those with SEND, SEMH, or non-traditional learning profiles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a student-centred approach to learning.
  • Confidence working independently across different environments.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – support available – cost £55.50).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
Why Join Us?
  • Flexible hours to suit your schedule (typically between 9:30am-4pm).
  • Consistent work – as one placement ends, we aim to match you with another.
  • Weekly pay, with a choice of contract options (self-employed or umbrella).
  • Lesson Plans Provided, access to hub of plans to adapt to your students and resources.
  • 88+ free CPD courses, including Safeguarding, Behaviour Management & Use of Reasonable Force.
  • Immediate starts available across Essex.

Note: By applying through LT Support you are introduced to the service and benefit from fast turnaround times, effectively registering with both companies, and gaining access to more opportunities with support throughout the process. You will be working through a service, not an agency, with additional opportunities with one of the leading Alternative Education Providers for Essex.
