A leading UK food manufacturer is seeking an Outbound Logistics Senior Area Lead to oversee the outbound logistics operations. In this role, you will assist the Outbound Logistics Manager, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while supervising a team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fast-paced food manufacturing, leadership experience, and strong communication skills. A flexible attitude and forklift licenses are advantageous. This position requires a driven individual to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • At least one year’s experience of leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Reach & Counterbalance Forklift licences preferred.

A rare opportunity has arisen to BPM for an Outbound Logistics Senior Area Lead role. As a Outbound Logistics Senior Area Lead, you will be supporting the Outbound Logistics Manager to ensure the effective running of the outbound logistics operations. We are looking for a driven, skilled, and flexible individual to help us ensure continuous and smooth operations in the Despatch department.

  • Assisting and supervising the collection and despatch of products according to the sales order process schedule, working in accordance with health and safety regulations, food safety legislation, and quality standards specified by our customers
  • Supervising the control of all finished goods, materials, and equipment held on site
  • Ensuring an efficient, accurate storage and stock control operation is provided up to the point of distribution
  • Supporting the Despatch Manager with the onward delivery of finished goods to all customers ensuring accurate and timely deliveries whilst conforming to customer and site specifications
  • Ensuring staff under your supervision understand all statutory, legal, food safety, company, and customer procedures/requirements and ensure compliance is met
  • Leading, motivating, engaging and developing the team
Candidate requirements:
  • A background in fast‑paced food manufacturing, preferably chilled food
  • At least one year’s experience of leading a team
  • A flexible, adaptable, can‑do attitude with the ability to learn quickly
  • A strong command of the English language (both verbal and written) is essential
  • Reach & Counterbalance Forklift licences would be advantageous
  • Experience in warehousing/despatch duties
