An NHS Healthcare Provider is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for part-time hours (22.5 hours) focusing on patient diagnostics in ophthalmology. The role includes assisting nurses during injections and conducting eye tests. While experience with diagnostic machinery is advantageous, training will be provided. This position offers a competitive salary starting at Band 2, with progression to Band 3 upon training completion. We have the opportunity to employ a candidate to our Ophthalmic technician role for 22.5 hours which will be 2 days 8am - 6pm and one day at 8am - 5.30pm every other week on a make up shift.
The role is highly specialised with diagnostic machinery running within ophthalmology, previous knowledge welcomed but not essential as training will be given.
Will also spend time on clinic learning how to do eye tests for patients which feed into the technician role.
Will spend time assisting the nurse injector within intravitreal injections as a circulating team member.
The salary starts at a Band 2 while training then moves up to Band 3 upon completion. Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
Performing tests on patients following the appropriate training and sign off within the department against our competency booklets which are provided.
