Job description
Operations Support Executive – CPD Certification Service

Are you experienced, intelligent, educated, enjoy building relationships, want to work from home and ready to join a great team with a starting salary of £31K?

About the Service The CPD Certification Service is a membership‑based organisation that helps over 6,500 organisations produce world‑class training and information‑based material. We have been doing this for over 25 years, and we are experts in the field of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CPD is defined as how we improve our skills and competences throughout our working life, often associated with membership of a recognised professional body and on‑the‑job training. Member organisations include the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the Welsh Senedd, the World Health Organization, St John’s Ambulance, the House of Commons, and many others. This year we will assess and certify over 50,000 pieces of CPD material.

We work from home and are recruiting one full‑time, home‑based staff member to join our team of 23. The annual starting salary is £31,000, rising to £33,000 after a six‑month probationary period. Initial working hours will be 0900 to 1700 with flexible working after probation.

Key Responsibilities

If you are successful, most of your time will be undertaking “case management”. This involves handling member submissions and supervising our processes through to certification. You must be able to cope with a demanding administrative burden, possess a ruthless attention to detail, build member relations, and be able to work independently. After probation, you will train as an assessor, determining whether the CPD submissions you review are suitable for certification. Topics cover practically everything from cupcake making and trapeze artistry to mold remediation, carbon‑footprint calculation, the menopause, biosecurity, safeguarding, NATO battlefield injury treatment, and anything in between.

Qualifications & Experience

To be the right person you must be educated to tertiary level, possibly have experience in an educational or training environment, possess excellent English language skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office products. Immediately after the interview you will be asked to take a simple English grammar test.

Requirements for Home‑Based Work
  • You can prove that you have a suitable working location – a shared room, kitchen table or beanbag is not acceptable.
  • You must have broadband with a minimum 40 MB download speed.
  • We provide all the IT equipment you will need and ensure you have the correct DSE‑compliant environment to start work.
