Operations Supervisor

Salary: Competitive plus performance bonus, company van supplied, pension and many other Veolia benefits.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Location: Newhaven - Canterbury - Tonbridge

What you'll be doing
  • Support in managing the day to day compliance and standards of the operations. This will include, but not limited to, health, safety and fleet compliance, working closely with the risk & assurance, fleet and operational teams.
  • Ensure the safety & wellbeing of all employees and those affected by our operations
  • Ensuring training and competency checks are completed for all roles and recorded on AVA.
  • Completion of driving assessments annually.
  • Carry out daily site checks in line with requirements, VMS procedures and relevant legislation to support the managers monthly inspection.
  • Support continual (minimum annual) review of risk assessments (including COSHH), and following any change in legislation, accidents/ incidents or Veolia procedure.
  • Provide knowledge and support on day-to-day challenges that the business may encounter while maintaining maximum quality, health and safety requirements.
  • Identify areas of improvement and propose solutions to rectify and resolve any gaps or concerns raised.
  • Attend H&S meetings reporting on current activity and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Carry out Risk Assessments across all operational functions across the depots.
What we're looking for
  • Ability to liaise and co-operate with drivers, sub-contractors and customers.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organisational skills - managing on work schedule across 3 operating depots.
  • Motivation to drive improvements and embed a proactive risk culture.
  • Operational health and safety experience - including training, assessments and inductions.
  • Hazard perception skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential risks in various operational environments.
  • IT / Computer literate (use of Google)
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Class 2 (Cat C) licence / up to date CPC / Digi - Tachograph card preferential.
