About Guildhall Chambers

Guildhall Chambers is a preeminent, multi-disciplinary set of barristers chambers based in Bristol, operating throughout England & Wales. There are over 80 barristers in Chambers, working in some fourteen areas of practice in civil and criminal law.

Role

The pivotal role of Operations Manager supports the smooth running of Chambers, ensuring our barristers and staff are empowered to perform at their best. Youll work closely with senior leadership to manage office operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide essential HR support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage office services staff, including reception, housekeeping, and facilities.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development to maximise team performance.
  • Ensure Chambers meets all legislative and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage office administration, premises maintenance, and health & safety.
  • Support governance functions,including committee coordination and documentation.
  • Deliver HR support,including policy development, staff benefits, appraisals, and E&D data reporting.
  • Facilitate pupillage and mini-pupillage processes in line with BSB standards.
