Job description
Overview

The Operations Executive is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for delivering world‑class venue operations at The Kia Oval. The role supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of both match day and non‑match day events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver all logistical requirements for events, including road closures, car parks, radios, channel allocations and crowd barriers.
  • Liaise for venue mapping and maintain updated venue layouts for match day events.
  • Act as liaison with the Head of Health & Safety to ensure pre‑event checks are carried out and communicated for all match days.
  • Produce match day briefing documents and stewarding packs in coordination with the Operations team and other departments.
  • Brief and align all departments with event requirements.
Operations Support & Administration
  • Produce and process purchase orders using the Club's internal PO system, ensuring correct budget allocation when required.
  • Manage and monitor stock of radios, signage and equipment, maintaining operational readiness for each event.
  • Attend and minute planning meetings, track actions and ensure follow‑ups are delivered.
  • Support delivery of operational elements within CAPEX, including procurement and contractor coordination.
  • Assist with internal safety planning and tendering processes where required.
  • Assist with match day uniform logistics, stewarding handbooks and equipment readiness.
  • Work collaboratively on operational aspects of the staffing lifecycle – ensuring staff facilities, welfare and equipment are ready and appropriate.
  • Coordinate staffing deployments in conjunction with the Staffing Operations Manager and Venue Operations & Security Manager.
  • Provide general administrative support to staffing‑related logistics on high‑profile match days and major event build‑ups.
Stakeholder Liaison
  • Act as an internal point of contact for operational queries from other departments.
  • Liaise with key external partners and contractors when required.
Requirements
Essential
  • 1–2+ years’ experience in operations, events, venue management or sports‑related environments.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities in high‑pressure, live event settings.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred
  • Understanding of sports ground safety guidance.
  • Previous experience working in staffing or operational logistics.
Desirable
  • Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management (or working towards).
