Salary: £95,000 - £110,000 per annum

Are you an experienced operations leader ready to make a lasting impact in a growing fire safety business? We are seeking a highly capable Operations Director (or an ambitious Senior Operations Manager looking to take the next step) to oversee all aspects of operational delivery across our fire safety services.

With over 35 years of trusted expertise and a reputation for excellence within the fire protection industry, our organisation is experiencing significant year-on-year growth and is expanding across London and the wider property sector.

About the Role

The Operations Director will play a pivotal role in driving the company's operational performance, ensuring exceptional service delivery, financial efficiency, and client satisfaction. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team across service management, projects, and engineering, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands‑on leadership position — ideal for someone who thrives on operational delivery, people development, and strategic oversight.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and inspire high‑performing teams of managers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Align operational activities with company objectives and foster continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and clear performance direction.
Operational Oversight & Execution
  • Take ownership of all operational functions to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Client Relationships & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication, regular project updates, and issue resolution.
Compliance & Safety Leadership
  • Uphold strict compliance with all relevant fire safety standards (BS5839, BS5266, BS7671).
  • Lead health and safety initiatives, audits, and risk management.
Financial & Budget Management
  • Oversee operational budgets, monitor P&L, and ensure delivery within financial targets.
  • Produce regular financial and performance reports for senior leadership.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive quality standards across all services.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and process reviews to maintain and enhance performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
  • 5-10 years of senior operational management experience within the fire safety or related technical services sector.
  • Proven track record in managing service delivery, small works, and projects.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent financial and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving, organisational, and communication skills.

  • In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Desirable
  • Fire Alarm and Detection Advanced Design certification.
  • City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 & 3.
  • IOSH Managing Safely and/or SMSTS qualification.
