Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community or domiciliary).
  • Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility needs.
  • Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, documenting intake where appropriate.
  • Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
  • Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
  • Support basic clinical procedures including wound care set‑up and catheter care assistance.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical areas for patient use.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and teams to support safe patient care.
