About the Role

Senior Pre‑Sales Engineer – Presales / Sales Engineering – Permanent full‑time, hybrid working 2‑3 days per week in London (remote) with travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare.
  • Aide customers and work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Project and other teams to design solutions.
  • Describe complex technical concepts in easy‑to‑understand terms and explain ROI.
  • Provide technical and commercial leadership, ensuring customers choose Cloudflare solutions.
  • Participate in customer meetings, demos, and conference talks.
  • Manage projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize competing demands.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 5‑10 years of experience in the IT industry and in a presales, consulting or sales engineering role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; fluent business English, and one or more regional languages.
  • Excellent foundational understanding of Internet technologies (TCP/UDP, DNS, firewall, TLS/SSL, HTTP).
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape in DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer platform or Zero‑Trust/SASE services.
  • Ability to explain ROI and how customers make buying decisions.
  • Experience with scripting (Python, JavaScript, Bash) is a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of Python or JavaScript; desire to expand skills.
  • Travel willingness: 10‑15 days per quarter to customer offices, conferences and talks.
  • Russian language skill to a business conversation level (optional).
