Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, NDT, coatings, and HV electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary QA/QC interface with client representatives during WTG installation.
  • Plan and coordinate inspection readiness in collaboration with Vessel Supervisors.
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with approved Offshore ITPs.
  • Identify and manage non-conformities and defects.
  • Support mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams with completion activities.

Overview

WTG Offshore QA/QC Inspector - WIV / SOV
🌊 Dogger Bank Project OWF
💼 Contract - 24 months. 14/14 rotation - Outside IR35

Spencer Ogden is working with a leading offshore wind contractor to recruit an experienced WTG Offshore QA/QC Inspector to support WTG installation and commissioning activities on the Dogger Bank offshore wind project.

This role will be based offshore on WIV and/or SOV vessels, playing a key role in ensuring quality compliance across installation, pre-energisation, and final walkdown activities.

Role Overview

As Offshore QA/QC Inspector, you will be responsible for executing offshore quality inspections in line with the Project Quality Plan (PQP), approved procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). You will act as a primary interface with client QA/QC representatives and offshore teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery of WTG installation and commissioning works.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary QA/QC interface with client representatives during WTG installation, pre-energisation, and final walkdowns
  • Plan and coordinate inspection readiness in collaboration with Vessel Supervisors and the Offshore Quality Coordinator
  • Review and approve Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Quality Records following offshore activities
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with approved Offshore ITPs
  • Identify, record, and manage non-conformities, deviations, and defects, ensuring closure is tracked within the GE software system
  • Support mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams with punch list and completion activities
  • Monitor and report on preservation and protection of main components
  • Ensure quality documentation is completed in parallel with operations and issued to the client in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Vessel Managers, Engineers, and offshore stakeholders to resolve quality issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned with the Global Supply Chain
  • Actively participate in the EHS programme, promoting a strong safety culture offshore
Working Environment
  • Offshore, vessel-based role (WIV / SOV)
  • Predominantly outdoor conditions
  • Regular work at height
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • GWO Certification
  • Proven experience in the offshore wind industry as a QA/QC, mechanical, electrical, or commissioning inspector
  • Technical or engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards
  • Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, NDT, coatings, and HV electrical systems
  • Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated
