Job description
About the role

Are you an Occupational Therapist committed to working in mental health and keen to use your professional skills to support individuals’ recovery? You’ll join the Cotswold House Specialist Eating Disorder Unit at Warneford Hospital in Oxford – a 14‑bed inpatient service that also offers day‑patient care. The role is full‑time and requires HCPC registration.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and provide a high standard of assessment and treatment for patients referred to the service.
  • Take responsibility for an agreed clinical caseload, including care coordination.
  • Collaboratively assess and provide needs‑based treatment programmes and discharge plans that complement the overall provision of service.
  • Develop and maintain relevant therapeutic activities (cognitive, creative, educational, work, leisure, interpersonal and life‑skills) and ensure interventions are evidence‑based.
  • Plan and provide therapy services for patients in consultation with users, carers and clinical teams, within defined resources and using evidence‑based practice.
  • Act as a role model and coach to staff, students, patients and carers to maintain best practice.
Qualifications and experience
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with HCPC.
  • Experience in mental health, especially with eating disorders.
  • Ability to formulate patient assessments and outcomes using CBT‑ED and other evidence‑based treatments.
  • Willingness to undertake further training such as the PEACE Pathway, Masters Pathway, CBT‑E, and DBT Skills.
