Overview

Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation and Recovery Beds - Leeds

Contract: Full-time | Initial 3-6 months with potential for extension

A local authority in Leeds is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a supportive and collaborative team working across 3 Rehabilitation and Recovery Beds. The service supports individuals who are unable to return home directly following hospital admission. You will be joining a team of 9 Occupational Therapists, working alongside Physiotherapists, Nurses, and care staff to promote independence and enable safe return home.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake complex Occupational Therapy assessments with a strength-based and personalised approach
  • Carry out reablement assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
  • Lead on discharge planning for service users returning to their own home
  • Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure progress towards individual goals is reviewed and achieved
  • Complete moving and handling assessments, provide risk assessments, and identify single-handed care solutions
  • Recommend and coordinate specialist equipment and adaptations to support independence
  • Support student education and contribute to development of the service
  • Participate in CPD activities including monthly protected learning time
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Previous experience working with Adults in a rehabilitation, recovery, or community-based setting
  • Strong assessment and discharge planning skills
  • Manual handling expertise
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Own vehicle and full UK driving licence desirable
