Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor

Location: Lincoln

Permanent - full time or part time available (Mon-Fri). Mixture of remote and assessment centre working to support a healthy work-life balance.

Overview: This role offers a genuine work-life balance and a chance to thrive in a brand new healthcare environment, while utilising and developing clinical skills as part of a Disability Assessor team.

As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess claims for Work Capability Assessments (WCA) as part of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). Assessments may involve individuals with a broad range of health conditions, and some assessments may be conducted remotely. An in-depth, fully paid training programme is provided, and the role counts towards clinical hours to support your registration.

Salary: £39,500 per year (full time equivalent). Benefits include a generous annual leave package plus bank holidays, hybrid working, a collaborative environment, a fully paid training programme, and opportunities for development and progression.

Responsibilities

  • Use clinical experience to understand how a diverse range of health conditions impact daily living and independence.
  • Conduct detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments over the telephone, via video, or face-to-face, in office and home settings.
  • Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.

Requirements

  • We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy.
  • HCPC registration is required.
  • At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
  • Proactive, keen to learn, and receptive to feedback.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential.
