We have an exciting opportunity in North Tyneside to develop a service for children, young people and adults where sensory processing challenges are the primary need. We are seeking two enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapists to work with the Northumberland Sensory Processing OT team to extend the existing service offer into the North Tyneside area.
We have 1.6 whole time equivalent band 7 sessions available so would welcome applications from experienced Occupational Therapists who wish to work either full or part time. Candidates will have experience of working with people who experience functional challenges associated with sensory processing, and their families / carers. Experience of quality improvement and change management is important for the successful candidates to be able to work with partners and stakeholders to plan, prepare and launch this new service offer and develop systems to monitor impact and effectiveness.
These posts will be based with the Paediatric Occupational Therapy service in North Tyneside (currently based at the Riverside Centre North Shields), with close working with the Northumberland Sensory Processing OT team based at Wansbeck General Hospital and Community Learning Disabilities Team based at Wallsend Health Centre. The postholders will lead on the development and monitoring of a universal, targeted and specialist sensory processing service offer as part of the roll out of the already highly successful Northumberland service model.
