About this role

We’re looking for compassionate and caring Nursing Assistants with a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey here at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Our nursing teams are committed to caring for our patients and families, delivering consistent, high quality, patient focused care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients, relatives, and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team, working flexibly across a range of day and night shifts over 7 days a week.
  • Assist with personal care needs of patients, including mobilising, toileting, bathing, dressing, eating and drinking.
  • Support the nursing team under the supervision of Registered Nurses and within Trust guidelines & protocols.
  • Record patient observations and changes to patient conditions.

On the Job Training Opportunities

New to healthcare? You’ll be supported through our Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants. Completion gives the opportunity to progress into a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role.

Experienced Nursing Assistants will undertake a skills analysis to confirm the required skills for a Band 3 role. Where gaps exist, you’ll be supported to complete relevant clinical skill modules to progress to a Band 3 post.

Evidence of prior learning will be reviewed and considered.
