Job summary

An educational staffing agency is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant for a diverse Primary School in Newham starting January 2026. In this long-term contract, you'll support the reception class, preparing for lessons and managing classroom behaviour. Ideal candidates will have Early Years experience, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work in education. Are you a teaching assistant with Early Years' experience looking for a new role?

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding and diverse Primary School in Newham for a January 2026 start. This is a long-term contract for the academic year with the view of the role becoming permanent. You will be working with a reception class providing support to the class teacher and preparing the classroom for lessons and activities. You will need to have excellent behaviour management skills and be able to use your own initiative as well as work as part of a team.

As a Teaching Assistant for this role, you must have the following:
  • Experience of working in Early Years
  • Experience of working with SEND children
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Able to commit to a year's contract and/or wanting a career in education
  • Be ambitious and reliable
  • Early Years qualification desirable but not essential
