About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Midlothian Newbyres is a 154‑place nursery offering two settings located just across the road from one another: Newbyres Hall welcomes children under 3, and St Paul's serves children 3‑5 years old. Situated in the centre of Gorebridge village, our nursery is very convenient for families and staff, with excellent public transport links, including the new Borders Railway a minute’s walk away, and a free–of–charge car park to the rear.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and delivering educational activities that promote children's development.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Take on the role of Key Person, fostering strong partnerships with children and their families.
  • Track and report on children's progress through observations and assessments.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Level 2 qualification in early years education/childcare.
  • Experience working with children under 5
  • Empathy and understanding – each child is unique
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

You may have previous experience working with children, ideally as an Early Years Educator, Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Assistant or Nursery Nurse.
