Burnham

Salary : £13.50 per hour

Hours : Monday to Friday, 9 / 9 : 30am – 1 / 1 : 30pm

Required Qualification : Basic Food Handling Certificate

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals in line with the nursery’s four-week menu.
  • Ensure all children’s dietary needs and allergies are safely catered for.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness, following Safer Food Better Business guidelines.
  • Monitor stock levels, check food deliveries, and ensure correct food storage.
  • Complete all required food safety checks and records.
Main Tasks
  • Follow daily kitchen routines, including cleaning schedules and temperature checks.
  • Rotate stock, check use-by dates, and minimise food waste.
  • Present meals in an appetising way that supports children’s independence.
  • Prepare food for afternoon tea and support mealtime setup when required.
  • Ensure all equipment and appliances are used safely and kept in good working order.

This is a part-time Nursery Cook role suited to someone organised, reliable, and passionate about preparing healthy meals for children.
