Overview

Randstad is seeking a Nursery Assistant to join our client's team. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Position description
  • Contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's achievements for parents/carers.
  • Collaborate with parents/carers of children with special needs to ensure full integration.
  • Support all staff and foster a positive team environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to uphold standards.
  • Safeguard children by adhering to the company's safeguarding code of conduct.
  • Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members.
  • Participate in out-of-hours activities, such as training and staff meetings.
Requirements

We're looking for you, if:

  • Enthusiasm for working with young children.
  • Interest in the care, learning, and development of young children.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality childcare.
  • Positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training.
  • Previous experience of caring for or working with children (voluntary or paid).
  • Understanding of Early Learning Goals.
  • Knowledge of National Standards for the regulation of Childcare provision.
  • Good organisational, record-keeping, and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, reliability, and trustworthiness.
  • Positive approach to inclusive practice with children and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing working hours occasionally.
  • Completion of a recognised Level 2 Childcare qualification (or working towards completion).
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene in the workplace.
