The Role

The post holder will ideally be a Registered Nurse and will lead a team of nurses and sonographers. They will support the Scanning and Training Manager in delivering and maintaining the highest standard of ultrasound assessment and patient care in accordance with the HF&E Act 2008 and the current HFEA Code of Practice. The post holder will coordinate both the nursing and sonography services and be a member of the Clinic Management Team to coordinate the activities of the functional areas of Clinical Services, with a particular focus on managing the team itself.

The position is full time – 37.5 hours per week – weekends on rotation are required

The role is available as a fixed-term contract for 6-12 months

Location

TFP Simply Fertility Chelmsford is a leading fertility clinic established in 2013. We provide treatment to NHS and private patients, performing approximately 400 fresh cycles and 300 frozen cycles per year. We offer a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, including PGT. Located on the outskirts of Chelmsford, adjacent to junction 17 of the A12, there is ample free parking for staff and patients. Our state-of-the-art laboratory, built in 2017, is equipped with the latest equipment and monitoring systems supporting excellent outcome KPI’s. Simply Fertility has a 5/5 inspection rating from the HFEA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and organising: Oversee and coordinate patient throughput between the clinic and its satellite services.
  • Compliance: Ensure all treatments covered by the HFEA license are in full compliance with requirements.
  • Staffing: Ensure adequate staffing and competence in the nursing/sonography area; develop work rotas within the financial framework; contribute to the nursing/sonography area budget.
  • Operations and service delivery: Assist in optimizing patient management and service delivery; develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure a positive patient experience including sense of care, control, value and cost.
  • Regulatory: Manage situations in the nursing/sonography area not covered by standard operating procedures; ensure informed consent and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Equipment and information: Maintain adequate equipment; ensure patients are informed about treatment options and implications; ensure accurate clinical documentation and reporting.
  • Quality and governance: Develop and maintain SOPs; work with Quality Manager to update Quality Management System in the nursing/sonography area.
  • HR and staffing: Participate in recruitment; assign tasks to competent staff; drive a high-performance culture; manage HR matters within the team; support CPD; ensure regular meetings and training for staff.
Experience and Knowledge
  • 1st level registration with NMC
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to produce clear comprehensive reports; experience with project management and long-term strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and implement innovative solutions to maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity
  • Experience managing common staff issues

Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)
