Job description
Overview

This role is open only to internal staff, including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Staff at risk of redundancy will be given priority if they meet essential criteria.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable to the Head of Nursing and Quality and a member of the Governance Team.
  • Work closely with the Service Director, General and Service Managers across community services.
  • Promote high quality care to service users across Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust.
  • Reduce health inequalities, promote equality and support workforce retention, recruitment, staff education and development.
  • Provide daily presence in teams, professional curiosity and expert knowledge in care delivery in specific areas.
  • Be visible to service users and carers, problem‑solve and resolve issues that arise.
  • Attend Governance incident huddles, collaborate to mitigate risks.
  • Take a facilitative and empowering approach, nurture creativity and adopt new methods that improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other Matrons, Governance Lead and Officer to triangulate and validate quality data.
  • Maximise digital solutions where possible.
  • Provide assurance to the Head of Nursing that the Directorate is delivering safe care.
  • Support and develop staff to fulfill their roles and ensure teams are actively engaged in quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management processes.
Qualifications
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a car/vehicle for business purposes (unless a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
  • Experience as a nurse leader in community mental health services.
  • Demonstrated ability in quality improvement and risk management.
