A children’s hospice organization is seeking a dedicated Nurse to provide family-centred care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The successful candidate will have essential qualifications as a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse or similar, with experience in clinical nursing. The role involves flexible hours, providing support in both hospice and community settings. Opportunities for professional development and training will be offered. This position is full-time with a 35-hour work week contract.
Every moment counts. Every memory matters. Come and join our Nursing team as a Nurse and provide exceptional care and support to children with life limiting and life‑threatening conditions.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with complex needs. They will be able to work both in a team and independently, use their own initiative and contribute to the skill base of the wider team.
As a nurse you will deliver high‑quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of children and young people. You will work with a team of Carers, Nurses, Team Nurses, Senior Team Nurses and Lead Nurses in a supportive environment.
You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering evidence‑based care in conjunction with Julias House policies and procedures, and will deliver safe care to children and young people with complex, often changing needs.
If you are passionate about hands‑on holistic family‑centred care and wish to develop a career in a children's hospice, we will support you by offering opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally, with excellent training and development.
You will be based at our Dorset Hospice, our Wimborne Care Office and will work across Dorset in the homes of the children we look after. Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights. There are no set hours for contracted staff; care is provided at the times requested by families and is therefore variable. Rotas are prepared 6 weeks in advance. This role is 35 hours per week, permanent contract, full‑time.
