Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Shift Technician for an urgent contract role in Preston. This position demands a technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, alongside previous experience in regulated industries such as nuclear or chemical sectors. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a regulated or high-hazard industry (nuclear, chemical, power generation preferred).
  • Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating schedule.
  • Required to undertake a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment in accordance with strict safety and regulatory standards.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to support continuous improvement initiatives.
