Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced freelance EC&I Commissioning Engineer for a major nuclear decommissioning project in Scotland. The role requires extensive previous experience in nuclear commissioning, including duties like vendor testing, preparing commissioning specifications, and fault identification. A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND), IOSH certification, and project management knowledge are essential. Qualifications

  • Previous nuclear experience is essential.
  • Project management knowledge, preferably APM member.
  • Experience in nuclear commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out vendor testing witnessing duties at works test.
  • Prepare plant commissioning test specifications.
  • Perform early inspection of site installation to facilitate system handovers.
  • Execute testing activities throughout IPC commissioning phase.
  • Identify faults and propose solutions.
  • Organise Commissioning Technicians and support resources.
  • Initiate and implement FOBs.
  • Validate Working Level Instructions.
  • Apply and remove Temporary Commissioning Aids.
