Overview
NPI Project Manager role with a well established, growing manufacturing company. Based in Barnoldswick. You'll be the driving force behind the New Product Introduction process as part of the NPI team, working in partnership with the Product team to innovate, design and deliver high quality, sustainable, financially viable products to meet our customers' needs.
This role will require the successful candidate to lead the cross functional project team to deliver New Products from concept/design brief to full scale physical production, sign off and distribution. You will ensure that all projects across the team run efficiently and that the products meet the appropriate levels of quality, compliance and safety, and fitness for purpose.
Responsibilities
- Lead the NPI team with the ability to motivate, mentor and support the team.
- Take ownership of NPI projects, ensure all key objectives and dates are met.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Purchasing, Quality, Commercial Finance, Sales and other stakeholders to align on project goals and timelines.
- Identify and mitigate risks, proactively resolving issues while ensuring projects are delivered on time.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress including timelines for the full department.
- Deliver strategic priorities while embracing and promoting operational excellence through Kaizen initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrate passion, humility, resilience and creativity to drive projects and inspire the team.
- Maintain strong communication skills to coordinate cross functional teams.
- Act as a champion of change, be proactive and solution-focused, with accountability and a drive to continuously improve.
- Experience in leading, managing and developing a team within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Project management experience with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Technical acumen with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials; use data to drive decisions.
- Experience coordinating tasks, solving problems and working cross-functionally.
- Competent Microsoft skills (Word, Project, Excel, OneNote).
Qualifications
- Experience in leading, managing and developing a team within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proven project management experience and ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
