Job Description:

The Company

This leading food manufacturer is known for its premium, innovative ambient products, supplying top UK retailers and foodservice customers. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, the business is expanding its NPD team and now seeks a proactive NPD Process Technologist. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment where creativity, quality, and hands-on experience are truly valued.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of NPD, you’ll play a key role in bringing new product concepts to life, from kitchen samples to full-scale production. You’ll lead factory trials across multiple sites, working closely with production teams to ensure smooth scale-up and successful launches.

A meticulous eye for detail will be essential as you capture technical data, support recipe development, and ensure all samples and documentation are accurately maintained. You’ll act as a key link between teams, coordinating progress updates, trial results, and launch readiness across departments.

Beyond the shop floor, you’ll collaborate with suppliers to trial new ingredients and packaging, stay close to emerging trends, and contribute to projects around shelf-life improvement and sustainability. This varied role will also see you support product transfers, contingency planning, and internal audits.

The Candidate

We’re looking for a practical, technically confident individual with experience in large manufacturing businesses. You’ll have a solid grasp of ingredients, processes, and trial management, and be confident working both in the development kitchen and on the factory floor.

Strong project management and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to juggle multiple timelines and critical paths. You’ll be naturally organised, Excel-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

A passion for food, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to quality will set you apart, as will your drive to innovate and continuously improve.

If you’re excited to work with a forward-thinking food business where your ideas and technical know-how can shape standout products, then apply now or call 0345 2600 737/07700 137 110 to find out more.
