Job summary

A UK-based company is seeking a Warehouse Section Manager on Nights to join their management team. The role involves leading and developing the warehouse team, managing KPIs for cost, service, and people, ensuring health and safety, and controlling absence and grievances. Candidates should ideally have supervisory experience in a unionised environment, strong customer service skills, and proficiency in warehouse operations. Qualifications

  • Preferred management/supervisory experience in a unionised environment.
  • Experience in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to deal with grievances and disciplinary issues.
  • Excellent PC and organisational skills are required.
  • Methodical approach to figures and reporting.
  • Broad understanding of warehouse and transport processes is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Understanding of people planning and scheduling processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members to achieve performance targets.
  • Ensure welfare, security, and health and safety of team members.
  • Deputise for the Shift Manager.
  • Liaise with the Shift Manager on customer service priorities.
  • Resolve customer service issues promptly.
  • Recruitment and training of warehouse operatives.
  • Control absence and holiday allocations.
  • Conduct disciplinary and grievance investigations.
  • Maintain departmental KPIs and good colleague relationships.
  • Protect company stock from theft or damage.
  • Manage warehouse expenditure and stock loss.
