Job summary

A regional auction and property firm is seeking a Yard Night Security person in Carlisle. This role involves ensuring safety and security during night operations, specifically handling livestock and managing site access. H&H Group plc is a group of companies based in Carlisle. We operate in Auctioneering, Property, and Insurance.

We are looking for a Yard Night Security person to join our yard operations team based in the auction mart building, Borderway Rosehill, Carlisle.

Job Responsibilities
  • receiving livestock on to the Borderway site after normal office hours
  • assisting customers to unload and pen livestock
  • dealing with the necessary documentation in respect of livestock movements and incident reports
  • ensuring site safety and security for personnel, visitors, and property.
  • conducting patrols – to monitor designated areas on foot or by vehicle
  • controlling access – to check credentials, issue passes, and escort visitors as required.
  • responding to incidents and escalating as needed.
  • monitoring security and CCTV systems.
  • managing traffic and parking – controlling vehicle movement and ensuring safe site access.
Qualifications
  • preferably be experienced in handling livestock
  • be familiar with the livestock marketing system
  • have good communication skills
  • be able to work quickly under pressure whilst remaining calm and polite in all circumstances
  • have an understanding of health and safety regulations relating to a livestock marketing operation

To provide the cover required we would be looking for the successful applicant to work 40 hours per week between Monday to Saturday. Whilst there will be some flexibility with hours depending on sale days we would expect the successful candidate to be on site from 5.00 pm on most days.
