Location: Springfield Vale, Perserverence Street, Barnsley, S70 6HD

Contract type: Full time (must be flexible with day and night shifts)

Rate: £23.10 per hour

Designing for dementia

We are proud to work alongside the University of Stirling to design a purpose-built home with dementia friendly spaces. The University of Stirling has a distinct reputation in the field of dementia and ageing. Their international centre for knowledge exchange - the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) - is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of dementia design. At Springfield Vale, we implement evidence-based environmental design principles to offer a non-pharmacological approach to support responsive behaviours associated with dementia. The home will feature 33 en-suite bedrooms across three units, enabling a homely and supportive environment that is responsive to individual needs. Springfield Vale’s 3-week bespoke Induction will begin on the 12th of January 2026.

About the role

As a Night Nurse Manager with Exemplar Health Care, youll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living at Springfield Vale. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading your home\'s care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
• Providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
• Overseeing and managing all your unit\'s clinical elements and risks
• Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
• Acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
• The supervision and management of your unit\'s ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication

To apply for this role, you must have a first-level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN. We are looking for experienced Nurses from all backgrounds: Adult, Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses / RGN, RMN, RNLD. As this is a management role, you should also have post-registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications. This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse who wants to progress into management.
