Job description
Overview

This is a Night Care Assistant role working 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM in an elderly care home. The role involves supporting residents overnight with personal care, safety, and comfort, while maintaining a calm and secure environment. Flexibility is required to support different areas of the home during night shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and emotional support in line with residents' care plans
  • Prompt and administer medication in line with policies and training
  • Understand and respond to each resident's personal, cultural, and social needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified living environment
  • Keep records and report changes or incidents accurately
  • Work in accordance with company policies, including safeguarding, COSHH, and health & safety
  • Attend training, supervision sessions, and team meetings
  • Respect the dignity, privacy, and independence of every resident
  • Follow care plans, only making changes with approval from a Senior or Manager
  • Report any concerns, hazards, or incidents promptly
  • Promote equality, anti-discriminatory practice, and inclusive care
  • Be flexible and willing to support other tasks or departments in the home where needed
