At Scottish Water we focus on how water reaches homes and how leaks are kept under control. We are looking for a Network Service Operator – Leakage to join our team in the West area. You’ll be part of a team working to monitor and maintain our water network, managing leakage and pressure to help keep water flowing reliably and efficiently. This role protects our vital water supply and supports regulatory targets, with safety, innovation, and best practice at its heart.

What you’ll do
  • Maintain District Metered Area (DMA) meters and equipment, ensuring everything is operating correctly.
  • Carry out leakage surveys and sweeps to monitor the network’s health.
  • Isolate and re-commission parts of the distribution network and perform step testing to identify issues.
  • Install and monitor leakage detection equipment; calibrate and repair loggers, meters, and other essential gear.
  • Collect and interpret data from sources such as Nightline data and DMA reports to spot potential leaks early.
  • Set up, programme, and deploy data-logging devices to support leakage work.
  • Occasionally participate in sampling when required.

The not-so-small print
  • This role is Grade 5. Starting salary is £32,650, with progression to a maximum of £38,610.
