Title: 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer

Located: onsite in NewtownAbbey, County Antrim

Salary: £30,000 - £37,000

Schedule: Full-Time

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT/Network Engineer to join our dynamic 24/7 Operations Centre team in Belfast.

You will be part of a shift-based team supporting critical infrastructure, resolving IT/network incidents with precision, and ensuring high-quality service delivery across a wide client base.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

Shift Pattern

  • Days: 4 days on (7am-7pm), 4 days off → repeated twice
  • Nights: 4 nights on (7pm-7am), 4 nights off → repeated twice
  • Then cycle returns to days

All candidates must have experience working in a shift-based operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of escalation for customer calls.
  • Log and manage faults/service requests (via Remedy), resolving 95% at first touch.
  • Work within strict SLAs to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate shift handovers and update support tickets.
  • Keep customers informed throughout the fault lifecycle.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper, and Adtran switches, routers, DSLAMs, modems, and other IT systems.
  • Manage circuit faults across ADSL, SDSL, Ethernet, NGA, MPF, and SMPF.
  • Liaise with third-party engineers and suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Support field engineers with remote configurations and link checks.
  • Monitor network health using SolarWinds.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an IT Helpdesk or NOC environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in IT/Networking, with appropriate escalation practices.
  • Background in enterprise network support; CCNA or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting Windows OS and servers.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service environments and SLA adherence.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers and managing escalations.
  • High attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
