Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) is a large, long standing Pathology Network in the South Midlands. Pathology services are provided to primary, secondary and tertiary care across three main sites; University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry (UHCW), the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton (GEH) and South Warwickshire Foundation Trust in Warwick (SWFT).
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the Network Blood Sciences Team, and continue to develop both the Haematology and Pre-Analytics services further in line with the national directives for pathology service provision.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
The CWPS Haematology Service is delivered from three sites, with a centralised hub laboratory at the GEH site, essential service and specialist laboratory at the UHCW site and essential service laboratory at the SWFT site. The GEH site has a fully automated blood science track solution. This processes all the Primary Care and Out-Patient work for the whole of Coventry and Warwickshire. The UHCW site also has a fully automated track system, and is an extremely busy Acute Trust. The Pre-Analytics service is delivered utilising an innovative model of acute and community phlebotomy sites, specimen stabilisation sites and a pathology specific transport solution to manage pathology samples away from the main hospital sites, ensuring efficient delivery to our Hub Laboratory.
