Our work helps clients operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently and we take that responsibility seriously.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Technical Inspection Engineer to join our team. This is a high‑impact role with clear scope to grow into a senior, sign‑off authority position within tank inspection and integrity management.

You’ll play a key role in managing tank inspection enquiries and projects end‑to‑end, acting as a trusted technical authority for both clients and internal teams, and helping shape best practice across the business.

As a Technical Inspection Engineer, you will:
  • Take ownership of tank inspection enquiries, guiding clients from initial contact through to project delivery and reporting
  • Provide technical expertise to support quotations, scope definition, estimating, and project planning
  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, and EHSQ teams to ensure all work is planned, compliant, and safely executed
  • Advise clients on inspection standards including EEMUA 159, API 653, and PSSR, recommending the most appropriate inspection strategy
  • Attend site to assess tank condition, access, and inspection feasibility, ensuring safe and compliant solutions
  • Project manage tank inspection work through to report issue and after‑sales support
  • Support inspection activities where required, maintaining strong practical involvement
  • Help maintain and improve compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17020, and SafeContractor accreditations
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection procedures, documentation, and reporting standards
What You’ll Bring
  • A strong technical background in mechanical integrity, tank inspection, or pressure systems
  • Working knowledge of EEMUA 159, API 653, and PSSR
  • Hands‑on experience with NDT and tank inspection techniques
  • The ability to translate client requirements into clear, safe, and deliverable work scopes
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients
  • Experience producing risk assessments and method statements
Qualifications & Development (not essential)
  • We are particularly interested in candidates who already work to EEMUA standards or are ready to progress toward formal sign‑off authority.
  • HNC (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • API / ASME / EEMUA qualifications desirable (or willingness to work towards them)
  • Previous NDT certifications (UT, MPI, DPI, RT) advantageous
  • EEMUA 159 Tank Inspector qualification preferred (or working towards)
  • Full UK driving licence required
What Sets You Apart
  • Technically credible, confident, and professional
  • Proactive and collaborative, with a strong safety mindset
  • Commercially aware and customer‑focused
  • Ambitious and motivated to develop into a senior inspection engineer with sign‑off responsibility
Why Join Us?
  • A clear pathway to technical authority and career progression
  • A flexible working approach with remote options
  • The opportunity to work on high‑profile, technically challenging assets
  • A supportive, expert‑led team that values quality and continuous improvement
  • The chance to become a recognised subject matter expert in tank inspection and integrity management
  • If you’re looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your development is supported, and your work makes a real difference we’d love to hear from you.
