What will you work on?
The National Account Manager manages a portfolio of the company’s national accounts, ensuring maximisation of performance and profit, identifying opportunities, managing risk, delivering profitability goals, developing effective long-term business relationships, and exceeding customer expectations.
How will you create impact?
- Develop bi-annual business plans that deliver on company goals and meet customer needs
- Maximise account profitability through strategic business planning including: delivery of volume, revenue and margin, creative promotional work and effective use of data to provide category solutions
- Build innovative sales and marketing led account plans through coordination of trade marketing and marketing activity to maximise Spin Master’s performance within the account, delivering against planned volume, distribution and profit targets
- Confidently deliver product presentations, business proposals and marketing plans to customers on time
- Understand customer timelines and proactively provide information and materials required to make decisions and manage business effectively
- Develop forecasts that reflect market realities; update forecasts monthly using POS, stock and allocations data and promotional plans, and work with the planning team to ensure stock and allocations are available
- Continual timely and effective review of actual performance to ensure goals are achieved and adjust plans as necessary with supporting evidence
- Manage customer-specific budgets and ensure Business Plans and systems are kept up to date and spend tracked; meet all deadlines
- Analyze sell-through data and market intelligence to maximise opportunities while minimising risk
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide fast solutions to challenges
- Work proactively with team members to deliver best possible customer service and ensure Spin Master UK is a preferred supplier
- Understand all account objectives and marketing plans by establishing multi-level and cross-functional relationships within the account portfolio
- Proactively identify challenges and solve problems, escalating issues when necessary
- Collaborate with accounts to agree on sales growth objectives while managing account selections and samples processes
- Negotiate at senior levels to maximise long-term supply agreements and optimise marketing mix elements
- Coach and manage direct reports to ensure workload is planned, deadlines are met and development conversations lead to action
What are your skills and experience?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in the CPG or Toy industry preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related area
- Demonstrated success managing national/E-Comm first retailers; UK Toys retailer experience preferred
- Retail experience either at store level or retail planning experience is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); SAP, Power BI, Salesforce are an asset
- Customer-driven approach and a “go-getter” attitude
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, externally and internally
- Strong organizational, planning and communication skills
- Goal-oriented with self-motivation, persistence and determination
- Ability to create and maintain business presentations and Excel files; read POS reports
- Willingness to travel to the US and other countries as required
- Full clean driving license
