The National Account Director is responsible for developing new business prospects and managing the full cycle sales process which includes initial lead generation, prospect evaluation, negotiation and closing. This is a full‑time remote position based in the UK that requires travel up to 30–40% of the time as seasonal business needs dictate.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial lead generation to negotiation and closure.
- Meet with potential sales clients to determine their business needs.
- Stay current on industry‑relevant trends, especially in food & beverage manufacturing, industrial hi‑tech, automotive and CPG industries.
- Research, recommend, and develop prospects for new business opportunities and expand customer relationships.
- Generate new business sales within the manufacturing sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospects and clients.
- Develop professional networks within the business sector.
- Identify improvements and recommend sales strategies to increase sales.
- Collect, analyze information, and prepare sales reports.
- Attend training workshops, meetings, trade shows, and events to increase professional learning and development.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Sales Operations, Business Management, or equivalent professional experience in the manufacturing sector.
- 7–8 years of experience in outside sales in the industrial or automation manufacturing industry with a track record of nurturing and selling to a net new customer base, meeting and exceeding quota targets, ideally in complex sales cycles.
- Experience in Business‑to‑Business Sales.
- Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of QAD Redzone products / services and a passion for selling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to negotiate successfully and to apply necessary marketing skills.
- Ability to focus on both results and client needs.
- Ability to meet with prospects and clients, fostering trust and engaging to identify business needs.
- Ability to engage confidently with C‑level executives and other decision makers.
- Self‑motivated with sound judgement, excellent assessment skills, a fast learner, quick thinker, and able to prepare presentations and communicate ideas and concepts clearly, confidently and persuasively.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and applicable CRM.
- Ability to adapt and grow in a high‑paced, competitive, rapid‑growth environment.
- Open to travel to the client side up to 30–40% of the time.
