A leading NHS trust in Wakefield is seeking clinical fellows to join their medical education team, focusing on teaching and innovative educational programs. The role requires prior teaching experience, a medical degree, and full GMC registration. Candidates will work with both undergraduate and postgraduate students, contribute to various teaching initiatives, and foster a supportive learning environment. The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust (MYTT) is seeking highly motivated, clinically able applicants; who wish to gain experience in clinical teaching, medical education and simulation; to work within our highly innovative and exciting medical education team.
These posts have been specifically designed for trainees who are looking to take a 12-month break from their training, after successfully completing their FY2 year, and applicants must have some prior experience in teaching medical undergraduates. This role will enable successful appointees to develop a specialty interest in medical education.
The majority of teaching will be to undergraduate medical students, of all levels; but this role will also offer the exciting opportunity to be involved with postgraduate education, in delivering teaching to foundation year 1 & 2 doctors, developing and facilitating our ‘STR1/2DE’ Teaching Programmes.
These are 12-month posts, beginning in August 2026, averaging 3 days per week over the year. However, most days are worked during medical student term times; with more time off over the Christmas, Easter and Summer periods.

There are opportunities for clinical fellows to lead on educational activities, reflective of their key interests and objectives for the year, within the teaching programme; and clinical fellows will be supported in creating new initiatives where possible.
