Overview

Sanctuary provide in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. Multi-Trade Operative

Welwyn Garden City – covering St Albans, Stevenage, Hemel Hempstead, and Luton areas

£36,095 - £37,994 per year

40 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out day-to-day repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. It will also involve preparing void properties for new tenants.
  • Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition
  • Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
  • Expected to be part of Out of Hours emergency cover on a rota basis (normally 1 in 10 weeks; enhancement paid)
Skills and experience
  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, bring original certification verifying proof of qualifications; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
  • Role involves driving on company business; drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
