What will my role be as a Multi Skilled Theatre Technician - Casual?

The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust. This includes assisting with all general technical aspects of Your Trust performance spaces to facilitate the delivery of shows, events, functions and meetings, along with adequate preparation of rooms and facilities. This also includes assisting the Chief Technician to deliver high quality technical services, liaising with clients, maintaining a safe working environment, and being the technical representative for Your Trust for technical management, operations, and production when on shift.

What do I need to have?
  • Qualified to Level 2/3 or equivalent in a relevant subject or qualified by practical experience
  • Experience of stage lighting design, setup and control
  • Experience of health and safety procedures in relation to stage operations
  • Experience of supporting public performances as a technician
  • Knowledge of theatre counterweight flying systems and mechanical loading systems
  • Proactive and innovative with the ability to work without supervision
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
