Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Location: Brentwood, Essex

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm

Salary: Circa £42,000 - £43,000 + Overtime (x1.5/x2) + Extensive Benefits below

We are representing an international pharmaceutical manufacturer that produces essential, life-saving medicines. Their modern 6,700sqm Romford facility is a high-tech, highly regulated environment where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring production machinery operates at peak efficiency. This is a perfect opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys a mix of technical challenges and meaningful work.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and perform repairs to ensure minimal downtime and optimal plant performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with management to investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement prevention strategies to eliminate waste.
  • Compliance & GMP: Ensure all maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Safety & Risk: Fully comply with internal and external EHS requirements (ISO 45001), including completing and reviewing Risk Assessments for your area.
  • Collaboration: Provide specialist engineering support to other departments and assist with the commissioning and setup of new, high-value factory equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven maintenance engineering background within a GMP or highly regulated environment (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Food, or Medical Devices).
  • Education: Educated to City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Multi-skilled (Mechanical & Electrical) with experience in pumps, motors, and electrical diagnostics.
  • Competence in basic machining (Lathe/Milling) and welding (MIG/ARC).
  • Knowledge of PLC-based equipment and IEE wiring regulations.
  • Right to Work: Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK (No sponsorship available).
