Corben Home Improvements Limited, a reputable and growing construction company based in Castle Donington, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Multi Skilled Joiners to join our team. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, safety, and fostering a supportive work environment where everyone plays a vital role.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of joinery work, including first and second-fix carpentry, on new builds, renovations, and maintenance projects.
  • Install, repair, and replace doors, windows, frames, skirting boards, architraves, and kitchen units.
  • Construct and repair timber structures, stud walls, partitions, and roofing elements.
  • Carry out general maintenance and repair duties, utilizing a variety of skills beyond joinery, such as:
  • Basic plumbing (e.g., replacing taps, fixing minor leaks).
  • Basic plastering (e.g., patching, making good walls).
  • Minor painting and decorating.
  • Tiling (e.g., small splashbacks, floor tiles).
  • Basic brickwork and pointing.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications accurately.
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess repair requirements and determine the necessary materials and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are kept in good working order and serviced regularly.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, other tradespeople, and management to ensure projects run smoothly.
Health & Safety
  • Adhere strictly to all site-specific health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Complete all necessary risk assessments and method statements before commencing work.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Hold a recognized qualification in Joinery/Carpentry (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds).
  • Possess a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
  • Be proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to the trades.
  • Have a full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Be self-motivated, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What We're Looking For
  • No formal qualifications are strictly necessary, but a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are essential.
  • Previous experience in a construction environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks.
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Reliability and punctuality are crucial.
  • Own transport is essential as our sites are throughout Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire.
  • CSCS card is desirable but not always essential (we may be able to assist with obtaining this).
