Job Title: HVAC Engineer

Location: Derby
We are recruiting a Shift HVAC Multi Skilled Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment, and building services.
Role Summary:
- Identify and manage risks related to equipment on site, including critical spares and performance improvements.
- Manage environmental conditions via the BMS system and ensure efficient operation of all plant and equipment.
- Implement and improve preventative maintenance programs.
- Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a comfortable environment, liaising with clients on reactive and PPM tasks.
- Fault find on HVAC plant and equipment, with a focus on Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems.
- Handle refrigerants safely, holding necessary F-Gas qualifications.
- Support health and safety initiatives within the team.
- Assist as Energy Champion and Safety Champion for the site.
- Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
- Complete risk assessments and related documentation in compliance with rules and legislation.
- Use mobile devices and CAFM systems to project and complete work efficiently.
- Plan daily tasks using email and calendars.
- Coordinate with onsite supervisors and account managers to resolve building services issues.
- Act as responsible person when required, deputising for the site supervisor during absences.
- Work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
- Supervise and manage subcontractors.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs outside normal hours.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A recognized or time-served apprenticeship.
- Proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
- Mechanical qualifications to City and Guilds standards.
- Strong multi-skilled abilities and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to supervise contractors and complete risk assessments and method statements.
- Knowledge of permits and safe systems of work.
- F-Gas safe handling and refrigerant use.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Working at Height qualification.
- IPAF / PASMA certification.
- AP qualifications.
- BMS system experience.
- HVAC controls knowledge.
