We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join a skilled Engineering team within Food Manufacturing, based in East London / Essex. This role involves ensuring smooth operations and maintenance of equipment and new installations, while contributing to the overall success of the engineering and manufacturing department.

My client is a fast‑paced and highly dynamic food manufacturer, operating as an SME with ambitious plans to continue their strong growth trajectory. They are strengthening their engineering department and are looking to add skilled, multi‑discipline engineers to the team. The company prides itself on delivering high‑quality products and services to its customers, supported by a robust and dedicated engineering and manufacturing team.

Description

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment to ensure optimum performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults effectively.
• Implement planned preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Provide support during equipment installations and upgrades.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimise disruptions.
• This is a shift based role; 4 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off, repeat.

Profile

• Proven expertise in both mechanical and electrical engineering within manufacturing, ideally high‑volume, low‑value environments.
• The ability to ‘hit the ground running’ in a dynamic and super fast‑pace FMCG manufacturing environment.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in engineering or manufacturing.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices in an engineering environment.
• Experience with maintaining and repairing a range of equipment and machinery.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues effectively.
• Can work on a rotating 12‑Hour Day Shift schedule (4 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off, repeat).
