Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated, forward‑thinking, enthusiastic and dedicated Radiographer to lead and manage the MRI services at St Mary's Hospital. This is a key leadership role which will involve working in partnership with the MRI Modality Leads within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust to provide an optimal MRI service.

The successful candidate will be a role model for demonstrating our Trust's values through their leadership behaviours, working collaboratively across multi‑disciplinary teams and be committed to providing high quality patient care.

This post will give the post holder an opportunity to build and extend their clinical expertise and also develop their management and leadership skills. Education and training are key elements of the department and the applicant should have extensive MRI experience, people management and communication skills. Flexibility and an ability to manage change will be fundamental to your role.

Main duties of the job
  • To be responsible for the management and day‑to‑day running of the specialised services pertaining to the unit.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of the specialist service ensuring optimum use of staffing and equipment resources within the modalities.
  • To be responsible for the professional leadership of the radiography team providing a high quality patient focused service.
  • To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
  • To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development.
  • To ensure maintenance of equipment and a safe working environment.
  • To provide a service across all sites.
