Job description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior MRI Radiographer to join our busy department, offering a wide range of specialist scanning, rotating between the NUH sites.

You will be supported by a structured training programme on 1.5T Siemens Aera, 1.5T Siemens Sola, 1.5T Philips Ingenia, 3T Philips Elition and 3T GE Discovery (7 scanners across NUH sites and one at Loughborough University). Regular progress reviews will ensure competencies are achieved.

We are a 7‑day service with on‑call provisions at QMC, where you will participate.

Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging procedures within your area of specialty.
  • Maintain a high standard of work and strive for continual improvements in radiographic standards and patient care.
  • Triage workflow and patients in your area, collaborating with colleagues to maximize departmental efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other staff and disciplines.
  • Assess patients’ suitability for magnetic field via safety questionnaire, and ensure safety of visitors and staff entering scan rooms.
  • Manipulate and manoeuvre radiographic equipment and patients to obtain high‑quality diagnostic images.
  • Provide safe and excellent imaging standards for patients.
  • Support the smooth running of the MRI service, ensuring day‑to‑day patient workflow and effective resource use.
  • Work closely with radiographers, trainees, imaging assistants, administration booking team, nursing and medical teams within Radiology and across the Trust.
Training & Support

In addition to the detailed training programme, you will be supported by the current team with any training requirements and a regular review of your progress.
